Alabama Butterfly Atlas

Alabama's permanently conserved and publicly accessible natural areas total several hundred thousand acres and are scattered widely across the state.  Each is home to a wide variety of butterfly species, some of which are known from that particular site and nowhere else.

Help expand knowledge of the butterflies that inhabit these public lands by visiting them and submitting your sightings to albutterflyatlas@gmail.com. The ABA also needs lists/sightings from additional publicly accessed lands, and these may also be submitted. Be sure to include the date and location of your field trip.  Some species may require photo documentation.
